Harnessing heritage to build resilient communities against disasters across Europe. Visit Project Site
Project Overview
RESILIAGE is a Horizon Europe-funded initiative (2023-2026) that advances community resilience through digital tools, soft solutions, and heritage-driven approaches to disaster risk management. The project co-creates solutions with stakeholders to improve risk communication, empower citizens, and support first responders during natural and man-made crises.
Key Objectives
- Understand societal reactions to disasters via data collection and analysis in five CORE Labs.
- Develop digital tools and non-digital solutions for better connectivity between communities and authorities.
- Leverage cultural heritage to enhance preparedness, response, and recovery.
- Promote inclusive resilience strategies addressing socio-economic, psychological, and governance factors.
Mourne Gullion Strangford Geopark’s Role
As a UNESCO Global Geopark, we contribute expertise in geological heritage, sustainable tourism, and community engagement to RESILIAGE’s mission. Our involvement strengthens local resilience by integrating geopark landscapes with disaster preparedness, aligning with our Strategic Framework for 2025-2033.
