Mourne Gullion Strangford Geopark Featured in UNESCO Global Geoparks Exhibition

Mourne Gullion Strangford Geopark was proud to participate in the UNESCO Global Geoparks exhibition at the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from 30th October to 11th November 2025. The exhibition showcased the unique geological heritage and community initiatives of geoparks from around the world, highlighting international cooperation and knowledge exchange.

On behalf of the Karpinsky Institute, organisers of the event, heartfelt thanks were extended to Mourne Gullion Strangford Geopark for providing photographs and descriptions that played a vital role in the exhibition’s success. The display attracted significant attention from global delegates and fostered new partnerships and collaborative initiatives among members of the Global Geoparks Network.

The organisers noted the importance of the event in advancing international collaboration and announced plans to further develop the exhibition concept for future presentations.

Mourne Gullion Strangford Geopark looks forward to continued engagement with the Global Geoparks Network and welcomes opportunities for future collaboration.
