Ways to Partner with the Geopark

AONB and Geopark Communities

AONB and Geopark Communities

Geopark Communities are part of the wider partnership approach of the Mourne Gullion Strangford UNESCO Global Geopark. They provide a way for local communities to become actively involved in the Geopark’s work, building on individual participation through programmes such as Community Ambassadors.

Through this pathway, communities are recognised for their commitment to understanding, celebrating and caring for their local landscapes, heritage and environment. The Geopark works in partnership with these communities to support learning, engagement and stewardship at a local level, reflecting its core approach as a locally led, partnership-based UNESCO Global Geopark.
