44th Lislea Drama Festival
The Lislea Drama Festival returns for its 44th year with an outstanding programme of award-winning amateur theatre from across Ireland. Running from 28 February to 14 March 2026, this long-established festival brings together leading drama groups for a week of compelling storytelling, classic works and contemporary productions.
Under the auspices of the Association of Drama Clubs of Ireland (ADCI), the festival presents seven evenings of high-quality theatre, ranging from powerful modern drama to literary classics and lively comedy. Audiences can expect thought-provoking themes, strong ensemble performances and the unique atmosphere that only live theatre can deliver in a community setting.
This year’s programme includes works by Thornton Wilder, Brian Friel, J.M. Synge and John Patrick Shanley, alongside contemporary writing that explores climate change, family dynamics and social change. The festival concludes with a special Awards Night celebrating excellence in performance, direction and production.
Whether you are a regular theatre-goer or simply looking for an engaging evening out in the Ring of Gullion area, the Lislea Drama Festival offers a welcoming and culturally rich experience within the Mourne Gullion Strangford UNESCO Global Geopark.
Curtain up at 8.00pm each evening (7.30pm on Awards Night, Saturday 14 March).
